Trade Akta Timbang dan Sukat 1972
The objectives of the Act are to regulate weights and weights and measures for the following purposes:
- Ensure that weights and sizes and weights and measures used for trading purposes comply with and are approved by the design and specifications set by Weight and Size Keepers;
- Ensure weights and sizes and weights and measures used for trading purposes using the International System Unit (SI);
- Ensure that weights and sizes and weights and measures used for trading purposes are verified and re-verified;
- Regulating licensed licensees for categories of manufacturers, manufacturers, and distributors of weighing and measuring equipment; and
- Regulate licensed companies under the Act to carry out weight and measurement and verification services and weights and measures.
