Introduction

The National Price of Goods Division (NPGD) was previously known as the Secretariat of the National Commodity Price Council. SNPC is responsible for carrying out two (2) main functions which are the Price Monitoring Program and the Distribution Program of Necessary Goods, LPG and Community Drumming (Price Standardization Program).

Function

a) PRICE MONITORING PROGRAM

  • • Monitor the price of goods on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis in the market;
  • • Provide market price trend analysis report as a reference for the Government to formulate actions and ensure price stability and supply of goods; and
  • • As reference to consumers in making price comparisons and plan expenses.

b) PRICE STANDARDIZATION PROGRAM

  • • The service distributes 7 subsidized / controlled goods from suppliers to rural/ remote areas.
  • • To standardize prices of Government-controlled goods in rural / remote areas of the Peninsula, Sabah and Sarawak.

Client Charter

This division is committed to providing quality and effective services in accordance with the established charter such as displaying the prices of consumer goods that are collected daily into the PriceCatcher Application before 12.00 noon including Saturdays and Sundays except public holidays.
