MISSION

Strengthening consumer protection through formulation of consumerism policies and legislative provisions under the Consumer Protection Act 1999 and the regulations thereunder.

1. Conduct research, formulate policy and legislation, and establish international collaboration in consumer affairs.

1. Review, implement and monitor the National Consumer Policy and the Consumerism Action Plan;
2. Coordinate consumer issues through the National Consumer Advisory Council (MPPN) and its taskforce;
3. Coordinate advertising issues through the Advertising Committee established under the Consumer Protection Act 1999;
4. Manage regional cooperation on consumer issues by participating as delegates representing Malaysia in the ASEAN Committee on Consumer Protection (ACCP); and
5. Conduct studies and research to assist in the formulation of policies and regulations relating to consumerism.
