The Business Development Division (BPP) was established on 1 April 2002 with the aim of promoting the agenda of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) through the promotion of MSME products either domestically or internationally and creating ethical business practices. In addition, BPP also provides training to PMKS and gives recognition to traders involved in the distribution trade sector.

SECTOR BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT POLICY SECTION

1. Coordinate feedback and papers related to policies, KPIs, and functions concerning the division.
2. Develop and strengthen retail programs such as the Consumer Economy Shop Initiative (i-Keep), Retail Transformation Program (TUKAR), and Automotive Workshop Modernization Program (ATOM).
3. Coordinate matters involving the Royalty and Copyright Act in the Music Industry.

TRAINING AND BUSINESS MATCHING SECTION

1. Plan and coordinate the implementation of business matching programs involving local product manufacturers with retail industry players.
2. Coordinate and implement business training programs in collaboration with private training consultants, focusing on enhancing business growth under the guidance of KPDN.
3. Coordinate the implementation of the collaboration renewal between KPDN and GSI Malaysia Berhad regarding barcode registration incentives.
4. Coordinate local products that successfully penetrate local supermarkets/hypermarkets.

LOCAL PRODUCT EMPOWERMENT SECTION

1. Manage applications for the Malaysian Made logo, including coordinating visits/inspections to factories as needed.
2. Coordinate and implement campaign and promotion programs such as the Buy Malaysian Goods Campaign (KBBM) to stimulate the domestic economy and encourage the use of local products.
3. Coordinate the database system for registering local entrepreneurs under the guidance of KPDN and applications for the Malaysian Made logo through the KBBM portal, buymalaysian.com.my.

SPECIAL PROGRAMS SECTION

1. Coordinate and implement programs to help reduce the cost of living, such as the RAHMAH Sales Program.
2. Serve as the Secretariat for the recognition program for business premises nationwide that offer reasonable prices (Affordable Price Shop Award – AKHP).
